The salon has been trading for over 37 years and has seen fashions come and go and yet can still get excited about the quickly changing demands of todays hairdressing. A member of the National Hairdressers Federation and 365-Day Hairdressing the hair salon has adopted digital technology in the running of the business. With point of sale appointment books and record keeping, digital phone systems and many other hairdressing innovations just to keep the daily running of a large hair salon manageable.
An ongoing skill shortage in hairdressers in this area has meant that Renella has adopted a strategy of home growing their own staff. Anne and Ross Miller have created methods of ensuring the safe passage of young hairdressers to a meaningful career, a safe transition from being an assistant one day to a being a confident hairdresser another.
With the assistance of 365-Day Hairdressing the policy of an affordable haircut with home care advice was put in place in the late 80s and has been a success. The prices charged reflect the experience, skills and demand of the hairdressers, who range through: Artistic Designer, Senior Designer, Senior Stylist, Principal Stylist, Salon Stylist and Young Stylist, this also puts some control back into the career path of the stylist.
